Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Mix together mayo, Dijon mustard, and honey to create the honey-mustard sauce; set aside a third for serving.
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook in the leftover bacon grease until golden, flipping once.
Cooking
- If using, add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Layer the cooked chicken with the honey-mustard sauce, mushrooms, shredded cheese, and bacon.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
You can substitute ingredients based on preference or availability. Let the chicken rest briefly after baking for juiciness. Excellent with sides like mashed potatoes or steamed broccoli. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container.
