Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • 10.5 ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a skillet, add the ground beef, onions, and minced garlic. Cook over medium-high heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Spray an 11x8 baking dish with nonstick spray and layer the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  4. In a bowl, mix the mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Add the ground beef mixture on top, covering the potatoes.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the oven until the potatoes are soft, about 60-65 minutes.
  2. Remove the dish from the oven, sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top, and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  3. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes to set. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, simply warm it in the oven or microwave until heated through. You can also freeze the casserole for longer storage, ensuring it's well covered to prevent freezer burn. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
